Tahquamenon Falls

Located between Paradise and Newberry, Tahquamenon Falls is about a 1 1/2 drive from St. Ignace which is the first city once you go over the Mackinac Bridge. The falls tend to be more "impressive" during a heavier rainy or snow season. The color of the water changes depending on how little or more water is falling over the falls because of the concentration of tannin that comes from the surrounding cedar "swamps" that empty into the river. I have been there more than 10 times, and there is always something a little different about the surrounding area, water flow, color, etc.
